Best TV brand to buy, best in the world TV maker

One of the most important question in the minds of all new TV buyers is "which is the best brand of TV to buy?". Our short answer to this is that you will be absolutely safe with any of the well known old established TV brands like LG, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, etc.

All these brands not only make very good TVs but they are very particular that their customers get the best of after sales service. Even if the local dealer may drag his feet regarding service, if you contact any of theses superior TV manufacturers directly, they will make sure that you get the best service.

Which country makes the best TV sets?

The most reputed TV brands like LG, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung and Sony have factories all over the world and their TV could be made in countries like China, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam etc. The big international TV makers have huge factories in many countries, but what is unique about their worldwide operations is that all their factories worldwide follow strict quality controls set by the parent company. No compromise is made on the quality of the TV sets, whether the TV is made or assembled in countries like China or India or Vietnam or Mexico. The advantage for these big TV making companies is that they can chose where to produce depending on which country offers them the cheapest costs mainly in labor. Other factors like Customs Duties, cost and reliability of power supply, cost of land and rental costs, etc. are also considered.

The most important part of a TV is the flat screen TV panel, and these are made in the factories of the large TV manufacturers in Korea and Japan mainly. The flat screen TV panels are made in very large factories with almost 100% automation, using robotic tools and having the very minimum manual labor. These panels are then packed in bulk, like say 1000 pieces on a pallet and shipped to the assembling countries like China, India, Mexico, etc. where the major TV manufacturers have their own assembling factories using local labor but under very strict quality control. Thus the quality of TV does not depend on country of manufacture of TV. TVs from leading manufacturers will always be of the best quality irrespective of the country of manufacture.

What country are most TVs made in?

Most will answer China or Korea or Japan, but it is not correct. The country that makes the most TVs in the world is Mexico!

The reason for this is that Mexico is right next to the USA, the world's largest market for TVs and Mexico has a free trade agreement (FTA) with USA. This means that any TV imported into USA from Mexico does not have any Customs duty due to the FTA (Free Trade Agreement) between Mexico and USA. Most TV manufacturers work on thin profits and the customs duty of about 5 to 10% levied by US Customs can be a deal breaker. So many of the leading TV manufacturers import the bare TV flat screens and chips in bulk into Mexico without any, or the bare minimum of customs duty, because Mexico encourages manufacturing in their country. They then assemble these TVs in Mexico using cheap Mexican labor and export the finished TV to USA with no Customs fees, taking advantage of the FTA agreement with the US. The advantages of making in Mexico are that labor cost in Mexico is cheap and Mexico being right next to the USA, transportation costs of the finished TV, in their bulky protective packages are also cheap. Mexico also has a large plastic molding industry making the cabinets for TVs; in fact Mexico is the largest country in the world producing TV cabinets.

Which LED TV is better Sony or Samsung or LG

Korean TV manufacturers Samsung and LG are now considered the world leaders in TV making and have overtaken their Japanese rivals Sony, Panasonic and Sharp. Samsung Electronics is now considered the largest consumer electronics company in the world, and is reported to be selling one out of every five televisions being sold in the world.

LG in Korea is also very big in TV making and has a significant share of world market in TVs. The answer to the question 'who makes better TV - Samsung or Sony or LG?' is that all Samsung, Sony and LG TVs are very good and since they make so many models, some models of TV from Samsung are better than LG or Sony and some TVs from LG or Sony are better than Samsung TVs. It all depends on what type of TVs we are talking about. May be Samsung makes better 4K Ultra HD TV and Curved TVs, but LG makes better 3D TVs and the picture quality of Sony TV is the best of the lot. The important thing to understand here is that to judge which TV is better has to be done in sophisticated laboratories using advanced instruments. The quality of these high end TVs cannot be judged by humans with naked eyes. So do not worry about which is the best brand, buy form any one of the leading brands depending on price and the TV that suits you and you can be assured of getting a good reliable TV
