4K TV has more than four times pixel count than in a same size 1080p HD TV. A 4K Ultra HD TV is 3840 pixels wide by 2160 pixels high to make the total of 8.3 megapixels. Why is it called 4K TV

Since the 4K TV has 3840 pixels horizontally and since it is almost 4000 pixels it has been named a 4K TV, the 4K for the 4000 pixels horizontally. The 'K' stands for 'Kilo" which is a thousand. Thus 4K means 4,000 and in the 4K UHD it signifies the 3840 horizontal pixels which is nearly 4000.

Is it worth buying a 4K TV yet
